Despite the rain, 14 racers came out to compete in the Vernon Paddling Centre’s small boat race this past Saturday.
Keith Major out of Peachland, on a surf ski, narrowly beat out Jeff Fink of Kelowna who was on his OC-1 on the 12 km course.
Leanne Stanley won the women’s division.
Several of these paddlers will be competing in the World Sprint Championships in Calgary in August.
