We are having a steering clinic today(June 27th) on Okanagan Lake at 6pm. Every club member should come out and learn to steer.

Yes, it is one of the toughest seats, seat six, but somebody has to do it or the boat goes nowhere! There is more to it than just keeping the boat on course, although that is huge.  Steering the boat means watching the changing water conditions – while encouraging the rest of the crew – while looking out for their safety – while poking and paddling – while making necessary turns – while not huli’ing.

But it’s fun! So come on out and give it a try.

Every member of our club should really know how to be in each and every seat on the outrigger canoes. This is a great opportunity to learn from some of our more experienced and wise “in the steering ways” members.
