Programs are offered for all levels. By joining the Vernon Paddling Centre you can participate anywhere from a novice level right up to international competition. Novice & recreational are coed while the open programs are separated into Open Women & Open Men as well as Open Mixed.

Open House

Come out and join us for our Open House.  Anybody can join us to try out any of our club boats: one person outrigger canoes, two person outrigger canoes, surfskis, SUPs and even come out in an OC6 (6 person outrigger) and find out what all the fun is about.

June 8th at 10am to noon.  See you there!

We're inclusive & adaptive!

For people in the Okanagan, having fun on the water is a right, not a privilege.

That’s why the Vernon Adaptive program provides opportunities for people with disabilities to learn how to paddle on Okanagan Lake.

Paddling in Vernon

Vernon Paddling Centre is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of safe and skillful paddling. The Vernon Paddling Centre Society (VPCS) is a club of independent paddlers who enjoy outrigger canoeing and other paddling sports.

VPCS’s mission is to promote an inclusive paddling community, safety, and foster paddling to the community at large. We are always looking for new members.

The Vernon Paddling Centre (VPC) has expanded its’ current paddling program to provide basic paddling safety and technique coaching to our new paddlers and more advanced paddling coaching to those members who are interested in racing and/or taking their paddling to the next level. There are three group paddling options:
