No prior board experience is required — just enthusiasm, teamwork, and a passion for paddling! With that said, we are looking to fill 2 roles in particular.

Programs are offered for all levels. By joining the Vernon Paddling Centre you can participate anywhere from a novice level right up to international competition. Novice & recreational are co-ed while the open programs are separated into Open Women & Open Men as well as Open Mixed.
For people in the Okanagan, having fun on the water is a right, not a privilege.
That’s why the Vernon Adaptive program provides opportunities for people with disabilities to learn how to paddle on Okanagan Lake. Read More

The VPC board welcomes members to join us at our monthly board meeting scheduled after our Paddle Plus training session!
The Vernon Paddling Centre (VPC) expanded its’ paddling program to provide basic paddling safety and technique coaching to our new paddlers and more advanced paddling coaching to those members who are interested in racing and/or taking their paddling to the next level. There are three group paddling options:
VPC members enjoy participating in both competitive and non-competitive races.
During the 2025 season VPC atheletes achieved outstanding results racing at the Gorge, Ski to Sea and CORA sanctioned races.

Vernon Paddling Centre is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of safe and skillful paddling. The Vernon Paddling Centre Society (VPCS) is a club of independent paddlers who enjoy outrigger canoeing and other paddling sports.
VPCS’s mission is to promote an inclusive paddling community, safety, and foster paddling to the community at large. We are always looking for new members.
