Destination Races:

Something to think about ...

Catalina Crossing  - This 24-26 mile race from Newport to Catalina has the option to participation or race competitively. Teams are mixed men and women.

Na Pali Challenge -  This 37 mile race down the Napali coast has the option to participation or race competitively. Teams are mixed men and women

Queen Lili  - On the big island of Hawaii, this 18 mile race goes from Kailua to Honaunau with Mens, Womens and mixed boat crews.

Molokai Hoe - This 38+ mile race crosses the Ka`iwi Channel from Molokai to Oahu. This race is demanding, so needs to have a strong race crew.  Can be either Men or Women as the races are run at different times.

2025 - VPC atheletes achieved excellent team and individual results: 

• CORA - Duel in the Desert, Round Bowen (Bob W with M I6 Team), Vernon Freshwater Challenge, Length of the Lake, CORA Team Trials (Singapore 2026), COMOX Outrigger Nationals

• Ski to Sea - May 25, 2025 - Glenn B & Bob W - 4th place paddling portion (Birch Equipment 1st place) - Kim D & Ken C - 21st place paddling portion

• Vernon Freshwater Challenge - June 30, 2025

• Gorge - July 12, 2025 - Vernon Mixed Masters 40+ 1st Place

• CORA Nationals - September 27 & 28, 2025 - Comox - OC6, Small Boat

• Length of the Lake, August 31, 2025 - Vernon to Penticton

• Cook Islands - Vaka Eiva - November 21-28, 2025 - Bob Woodman & Canadian Mi6 teammates earned 3 Gold Medals: first in Masters 60+ Men's OC6 Iron (10km), first in Men's 60+ MenV1 Iron, and 2nd canoe overall in Masters 60+ Men's 9-man Change Race around Raratonga (36km)

• Ski to Sea - Bellingham, WA - May - Bob/Glenn (BIRCH EQUIPMENT) 1st place canoe, Kim D/Dave R (FASTER BAKERS) 13th place canoe, Marcus B (FASTER BAKERS) 25th place cyclocross

• Vernon Freshwater Challenge - June 30 - Vernon Water Monsters 3rd place

• Gorge Outrigger Canoe Race - Hood River, Oregon - July 6 - 5th Place 40+, Candace, Mike F, Rick T, Bob W, Marcus B and guest Jeff Castleberry.

• Gorge Downwind Championships - Hood River, Oregon - July 11th, Bob W - 16th 60-69 Surfski, Marcus B - 12th 60-69 OC1.

• IVF Va'a World Sprints - Hilo - Aug 13-24 - Bob W - 1st place Masters Men 50 & 60

• CORA Championships Sept 28 & 29 - Penticton -

  Team FASTER BAKERS - Marcus B - 21st in Nordic Skiing Leg - Larry B & Kim D - 24th in Canoe Leg

• Gorge Outrigger Canoe Race - Hood River, Oregon - July 8
  VPC OC6 team members - Rick T, Kim D, Candace B, Marcus B, Bob W, Tim T - finished 25 out of 33 boats

• Gorge Downwind Championships - Hood River, Oregon

Surfski - Bob W - finished 16 out of 49 in age category

OC1 - Marcus B - finished 22 out of 68 in age category

• Vernon Freshwater Challenge - August 6th - CANCELLED due to wildfire smoke

• Length of the Lake - CANCELLED for 2023 - coming September 2024
