Freshwater Challenge

Thank you for making the 2025 Freshwater Challenge a memorable experience. 

Registration will open up in the Spring of 2026

VPC's Return of the Freshwater Challenge is a 40 KM change race on beautiful Okanagan Lake! Teams alternating between crews every 5 KM lap, with the changes taking place close to the shore.   

CREWS: 

Official Crews – For official status, on every second lap (i.e. either laps 1, 3, 5 and 7 or laps 2, 4, 6, and 8) your crew must be all women, while the other laps can have all men or any mix of women and men. 

Unofficial Crews – each crew can be any mix of women and men.  There will be one change per 5 km lap.  

Race Outline 

1st crew on the water does a running Start, left turns around the two buoys, and your club's/team's choice of beach or water change (off to the side).
