We plan to restart a version of the very popular Freshwater Challenge. Unfortunately last summer (August 6, 2023) the event had to be cancelled due to wildfire smoke in the area.

We’re excited to restart a version of the very popular Freshwater Challenge. We’re holding a very simple format by having all changes in the same location, with shorter legs to keep everything more exciting. The event includes the race and light snacks, post-event activities will not be scheduled. We are limiting the entry to the first 10 boats, with a maximum of 2 boats from any particular club.

START TIME: 0800
LOCATION: KIN BEACH, VERNON
COST: $240 PER BOAT
CREWS
Official – 2 crews – one crew must be all women, the other crew can be any mix you want
Unofficial – 2 crews – each crew can be any mix
40K CHANGE RACE
8 x 5km laps. Alternating laps between the two crews. Beach or water change. The water change location will be slightly further off the beach to give a small advantage to those teams that want to go for the water change!
